The Time Is Now To Reduce The Use Of Primates For Drug Testing

Beyond the clear ethical issues, animal testing has acute limitations in its effectiveness, especially for modern biologic drugs and vaccines. Primates often cannot accurately replicate human disease processes or responses to drugs.

While animal testing may always be part of certain pharmaceutical research, creating a strategic monkey reserve is not the solution. We must prioritize exploring alternative methods for drug testing. To achieve better patient outcomes, we should advocate for the use of technologies that can provide results quicker and more humanely.
