Maybridge plc, a leading producer and supplier of high quality, innovative organic compounds for drug discovery and development in the pharmaceutical, biotechnology and agrochemical industries, announced today the release of its latest CD-ROM. The new CD provides customers with over 300 newly introduced building blocks for drug discovery, in addition to the 4700 previously offered. Besides the standard information provided on the CD, the April 2002 version includes Lipinski1 "Rule of Five" data for 57,000 Screening compounds.

The free CD, published twice yearly by Maybridge since 1995, includes three databases, all readable by ISIS/Base and ChemFinder™ Software. The first database contains 5000 building blocks (Maybridge Organics, monomers and templates) and is searchable by substructure, functionality and CAS number. The second database contains Reactive Intermediates, compounds designed for CombiChem hit generation programs. The third database consists of 57,000 Screening compounds searchable by substructure and CAS number. Lipinski data for all Screening compounds is available on the CD and can be used to assist in the selection of compounds based on these characteristics: molecular weight, clogP, H-bond donors and acceptors. These compound databases are updated on a monthly basis and available for download from the Maybridge website at www.maybridge.com.

The April 2002 CD is available now from Maybridge and offers a valuable addition to the arsenal of drug discovery intermediates. For more information or to request a copy of the CD visit: www.maybridge.com, email: enquiries@maybridge.com or call your local distributor.
