Cerep's mission focuses on "Bringing Intelligence to Drug Discovery". The Company's purpose is to lower the inherent costs and uncertainty in drug discovery while simultaneously increasing speed and efficiency. To achieve this objective the Company has, since its founding in 1989, developed and acquired a wide variety of complementary technologies which together form a fully integrated, operational and validated drug discovery platform.

In the early years of its development Cerep built a solid reputation for Drug Profiling. This was extended to include High Throughput Screening (HTS), High Throughput Profiling (HTP) and the development of customized assays through its service partnerships with pharmaceutical companies worldwide.

Since 1996, the Company has broadened its range of drug discovery capabilities to include High Throughput Organic Synthesis (HTOS), Molecular Modelling, Virtual Screening, Pharmaceutical Profiling and Pharmaco-Informatics. Cerep's state-of-the-art technologies and know-how combine to form a powerful tool for the production, identification and optimization of drug candidates for development.

The Company has an international presence with facilities located in France and the United States. As of December 1999, Cerep employs 162 staff, of which 32 hold a PhD.
