Blending Of Viscous Solutions With The Flexsafe® Pro Mixer 5 L | 10 L | 20 L

This insightful application note underscores the critical role of efficient mixing in bioprocessing, particularly for the production of high-quality biopharmaceuticals. Central to this discussion is the Flexsafe® Pro Mixer, an innovative single-use mixing solution designed to blend viscous liquids with remarkable efficiency. The mixer’s performance across various volumes—5 L, 10 L, and 20 L—while addressing the challenges posed by different viscosities, including polyethylene glycol (PEG) solutions ranging from 25 cP to a notably high 1,200 cP is meticulously evaluated. Through a series of 27 trials, the Flexsafe® Pro Mixer demonstrated impressive results, achieving an average mixing time of less than one minute for viscosities up to 75 cP. Even when tasked with the more challenging 1,200 cP solution in a 20 L bag, the mixer attained 95% homogeneity within 37 minutes, showcasing its capability to handle complex mixing scenarios without the drawbacks of vortexing or foaming.
