Meeting the growing demand for high-concentration monoclonal antibodies requires efficient downstream processing. Recent advancements in tangential flow filtration (TFF) technology address this challenge through optimized membrane design and improved channel geometry. A newly developed 30 kDa Hydrosart® membrane offers tailored retention for mAbs and significantly higher water permeability, reducing rinsing and flushing times by up to 30 minutes per cycle. Combined with the Q-Screen cassette design, these innovations enable faster processing at medium to high viscosities while maintaining low transmembrane pressures—minimizing heat generation and shear stress. The result is improved scalability, reduced energy consumption, and enhanced sustainability. These solutions not only streamline ultrafiltration and diafiltration steps but also support consistent performance across screening and scale-up, making them pivotal for efficient biopharmaceutical manufacturing.

Explore how optimized membranes and channel designs can transform mAb purification efficiency.
