UK Utility Company Installs Labsystems LIMS, CDS At Oil Lab
The Oil Laboratory provides testing support for transformer oil samples supplied by the organization's service engineers from all around the world, processing some 1000 samples a year. Each sample is subjected to long periods of testing to detect changes in dissolved gases to indicate performance changes and to flag requirements for maintenance.
The new SampleManager Enterprise LIMS and Atlas Chromatography Data System replaced an existing in-house system, which is no longer supported. Several instruments, including chromatographs and a dissolved gas analyzer, are connected into the LIMS, which is used to control and track data and provide information to both the Oil Laboratory managers and back on to the engineers.
In related news, Labsystems announced that it will introduce a new product line, LabSystems 2000, at PittCon 2000 (New Orleans; March 12–17; Booth #1477). The LIMS and CDS product line offers improvements in both connectivity and lab productivity. The latest introductions to the series include:
- SampleManager 2000, a LIMS for enterprise manufacturing labs
- Nautilus 2000, a LIMS for R&D and lab productivity
- Atlas 2000, a CDS for chromatographic productivity
- PathFinder, Labsystems' implementation services group
- 4sight Implementation Service, scaleable software implementation
