Spotfire and Advanced Chemistry Development to integrate products
ACD and Spotfire will link ACD's physicochemical laboratory product suite with Spotfire.net so that, in a single Spotfire.net session, joint customers will be able to thoroughly analyze large sets of compounds to identify promising new leads. Specifically, a user will be able to access and analyze thousands of potential leads at one time in Spotfire.net to identify candidates for further study. From within Spotfire.net, a user will be able to call up and check off property categories calculated by ACD, such as LogP, LogD, and pKa. Spotfire.net will seamlessly connect to ACD's software, which will provide the requested calculations for the designated compounds. Those calculations will be added as new columns in the datasets within Spotfire.net, so the user can conduct further interactive visual analysis to identify trends and anomalies and draw conclusions quickly based on those enriched data records.
"With this new partnership, Spotfire is further executing on its strategy to deliver integrated analytic workspaces that enable scientists to access and analyze all the information necessary to make timely, complex decisions that directly affect what new products get to market," said Joseph Donahue, Spotfire vice president, Life Sciences Market. "Our partnership with ACD is an important step in creating an integrated workspace for scientists and managers involved in leads discovery."
Spotfire.net empowers scientists, engineers, product managers, and their enterprises to make decisions more quickly and efficiently by allowing them to access required data wherever it resides and interactively explore and analyze the data. Users can improve their ability to extract critical information, collaborate across teams, across departments, and across geographies. Spotfire delivers decision analytics capabilities that pharmaceutical, biotechnology, and agrichemical firms use to foster "first-to-find" innovation, fail poor candidates early, and speed drug discovery and development.
"New leads discovery in pharmaceutical research today is, more than ever, about finding new pharmaceutical agents with optimal pharmacological profiles or accessing associated analytical data to speed-up the identification process," said ACD's Antony Williams, director of business development. "The property prediction capabilities of our solutions, combined with the integrated decision analytics platform of Spotfire.net, will help our joint customers determine which compounds are most likely to be effective pharmaceutical agents."
Spotfire and ACD will also collaborate on ways to integrate ACD's spectral database and information management capabilities within Spotfire.net.
