Wallac ViewLux is a new plate reader for high throughput screening and drug discovery that accepts any object with a microplate footprint, and allows measurement of five major non-radioactive technologies.
The instrument can measure and analyze a 1,536-well plate in less than half a minute, supporting both robot loading and batch- mode operation. Sample transport is provided by one or two robot loading trays or 32-position stackers. The detector is a Peltier-cooled CCD camera coupled to an optimized telecentric optical lens. For epi-fluorescence excitation there is an extremely powerful array of flash-lamps together with high-quality optics. This provides for high sensitivity measurement of light from prompt fluorescence, time-resolved fluorescence, luminescence and absorbance assays. The facility to detect time-resolved fluorescence makes ViewLux an ideal tool in laboratories using, or wishing to switch to high sensitivity Delfia or Lance assays.
