NuGenesis, LabWare team on scientific data management and LIMS

Providing laboratories with a productivity boost

NuGenesis Technologies (Westborough, MA) and LabWare Inc. (Wilmington, DE) have joined forces to integrate the NuGenesis Unify and Vision products with LabWare's LIMS (Laboratory Information Management System). The companies hope that integrating their products will deliver key functionality missing from existing LIMS products.

LIMS have not done a great job of providing interactive access to original, fully graphical instrument reports. With no convenient method for storing these reports within a LIMS, scientists and technicians resort to printing and storing reports on paper. When LIMS results require a review of the original reports, as they often do, valuable time is wasted sifting through reams of paper.

By using the NuGenesis Unify toolkit as a bridge to the Unify database, LabWare LIMS will provide immediate access to all original reports associated with a given sample. Since NuGenesis Unify is an application-independent repository for human readable reports, LabWare LIMS users can review and reuse any type of laboratory report generated during the testing process.
