Increase PCR fidelity and yield with the GeneAmpâ High Fidelity PCR System

Applied Biosystems Group, an Applera Corporation business, has released the GeneAmp® High Fidelity PCR System. The system has the capacity to amplify up to 10 kb of DNA and is ideal for applications such as cloning and site-directed mutagenesis. A unique blend of AmpliTaq® DNA Polymerase with a new, thermostable, proofreading enzyme increases PCR fidelity threefold and increases the yield of Taq DNA Polymerase. The PCR System comes with a High Fidelity PCR Buffer that helps to enhance enzyme activity when used in combination with the enzyme mix.

The system is designed for a wide range of template samples, including mammalian genomic DNA, artificial chromosomes, plasmids and post-reverse transcription, and the increased sensitivity of the enzyme mix allows accurate detection of samples that contain as little as 1 ng of template. The unique blend of enzymes also limits the common problem of primer degradation.

The GeneAmp High Fidelity PCR System is specifically designed for use with the GeneAmp PCR System 9700, 9600, 2700, or 2400 and other thermal cyclers designed by Applied Biosystems.
