Alpha Innotech debuts Megapixel 12-bit gel documentation and image analysis system

Alpha Innotech's AlphaImager 3300
Using a scientific grade 12-bit Megapixel CCD camera, the AlphaImager 3300 generates vibrant image quality and details compared to the industry standard 8-bit, standard resolution gel documentation systems. The AlphaImager 3300 delivers real time image readout for complete ease-of-use compared to inexpensive digital camera systems that lack this critical design feature.

AlphaImager 3300 allows fast, accurate documentation of lab results ranging from bacterial plates…
AlphaImager 3300 includes an optional MultiImage cabinet with up to five unique illumination sources. A 21x26cm broad band, dual wavelength UV transilluminator, a transmitting white light fold-down table, dual reflective white epi-lights, and optional dual reflective UV or ChromaLight blue epi-lights provide the appropriate illumination for any sample type. The cabinet also includes a built-in filter wheel to hold filters for optimal imaging of ethidium bromide, SYBR Green, Fluorescein, Hoechst blue dyes, Texas Red, and other fluorescent probes. The cabinet lighting, motorized filter wheel, and optional motorized zoom optics can be controlled with ergonomic touch panel cabinet or the advanced AlphaEase FC software controls for the ultimate ease of use and flexibility.

…to coomassie blue-stained protein gels.
Included on the Pentium-based processor, the included AlphaEase FC, provides image acquisition, enhancement, archiving and analysis in one powerful, yet easy-to-use package. Automatic 1D-multi lane densitometry, 2D-spot densitometry, molecular weight determination, object distance measuring, and automatic colony counting can all be accomplished in seconds. Hard copies of images and analysis data can be generated in less than 7 seconds. The AutoLane function automatically detects lanes and bands in a gel image with a single button click with automatic gel skewing and smiling correction. The AutoSpot function allows for automatic detection and quantification of spots on a 2D gel image.
