Started by former employees of Digital Instruments, Asylum Research opened its doors at the beginning of 1999. We are a company dedicated to innovative instrumentation for nanoscale science and technology. Our first products, the Molecular Force Probe/Stand-Alone and the Molecular Force Probe/Inverted Optical, are pico-Newton sensitive instruments for measuring the forces between and within molecules. Although the initial thrust has been biomolecular force measurement, the Molecular Force Probe can be used to measure a variety of microscopic and nanoscopic forces including colloidal, indentation, polymer, solvation, covalent, adhesion and electrostatic. Other application areas include biomaterials, chemical sensing, surfactants and more.
