The Radiance-Pro™ high-throughput photoionization mass spectrometer (PI MS) is the first in a line of photoionization sources and mass spectrometers being developed for high-speed, high-throughput analysis of complex mixtures and sample arrays. Its unique capabilities meet some of the most demanding detection applications.

Why Photoionization?
A powerful solution to the interferences that plague the analysis of complex mixtures involves the key technology of threshold photoionization (PI). The core principle is to choose a narrow band of energy that lies slightly above the ionization potentials (IPs) of molecules of interest, yet below the IPs of common air constituents and solvents. Trace molecules or analytes are then detected without interference from the abundant matrix. Furthermore, fragmentation is minimized because ionization occurs
with very little excess energy.

Radiance Pro™ high-throughput molecular analyzer provides crucial capabilities for meeting the demands of high-throughput drug discovery. The detection system achieves near-universal detection of many classes of pharmaceutical drug compounds and offers the best combination of both accurate and high-speed analysis compared to existing methods of high-throughput characterization.
