Portfolio Services enables individuals and teams throughout an organization to develop, maintain and share portfolios of product candidates, and to produce reports for dissemination throughout the organization. Together, these tools empower an organization to capture and manage valuable product candidates and to ensure that such resources flow rapidly throughout the stages of the product life cycle. The product also includes all the capabilities offered in the Spotfire.net Desktop.

Because Spotfire.net enables users to capture, store, and manage virtually any type of information, they can annotate and enhance portfolios with all types of information, as well as personal observations and recommendations. This information is readily available to other types of applications, report generators, etc.

The product is also a Web-based team productivity solution that delivers the means to share information, reports, and experimental results in a distributed environment. Users can store their results and the associated links to source data in a common logical location to establish a collaborative decision-support environment. The product allows project teams to deal effectively with the volumes of technical data generated by today's research, development, and manufacturing processes. Users can immediately publish Web-based reports to distribute findings to other members of a project team or department. Embedded in these reports are annotated visualizations, which can be made interactive to provide readers one-click access to the underlying data. Users can also schedule to have reports generated in the background based on specific timing or related events to facilitate routine reporting tasks and to share the most up-to-date project information.
